Our properties have an influence on the communities that surround them. Similarly, a property’s local environment and community can affect its value. We must therefore recognise local communities as stakeholders in our business because of the long-term impact our properties can have on them.
Through targeted community investment programmes, we can create significant benefits for local communities. Indeed, our community investment policy explicitly states: “We will pro-actively seek to create and support community investment programmes that will bring about healthy communities around the properties we manage."
By aiming initiatives at key local issues, such as eradicating vandalism or improving local environments, we believe we are in a position to strengthen these communities. In addition, we also recognise that there is an opportunity for community investment to achieve real engagement with our employees.

PRUPIM collected a Charity Times Award for Corporate Community Involvement for the Prudential 4 Youth Programme. The Award recognises a coherent and integrated partnership between business and the community.
