PRUPIM boosts property investment team

PRUPIM, the property investment arm of M&G, has appointed Justin Upton as Deputy Fund Manager on the M&G Pooled Property Fund (PPL), a fund targeted at institutional investors.

Justin, formerly a Fund Manager and Investment Director at Mayfair Capital Investment Management, joined PRUPIM in January. He was previously at Henderson Global Investors and Cushman & Wakefield.

The PPL Fund provides pension funds with access to the UK commercial property market through a diversified portfolio of assets, and provides daily dealing in its units. It has over 75 properties spread across the UK and funds under management of around £500m.

Justin will be involved in delivering and executing the fund strategy, as well as investor relations and asset acquisition and disposal. He will report to PPL Fund Manager, Dermot Kiernan.

Matthew Peake has also joined PRUPIM’s Fund Management team to support the execution of investment strategies on retail and institutional property funds.

Matt spent the last nine years at CBRE Investors as Fund Manager on two discretionary balanced pension funds.  He started his career at Chesterton and has also worked for Henderson Global Investors.

“We are delighted to add Justin and Matt to our strong team. There are currently some terrific opportunities in the commercial property fund sector for investors seeking long term returns and these appointments will help develop and improve our offer to clients,” said John Wythe, Head of Fund Management at PRUPIM.
