LEADING REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT

The Code for Leasing Business Premises

In letting vacant properties to new occupiers, when renewing leases and when managing the ongoing relationship with existing tenants, we recognise the importance of listening and responding to our customers' needs. That is why we support The Code for Leasing Business Premises in England and Wales 2007.

The Code consists of three parts:

PRUPIM supports the 2007 Code by:

  1. Stressing to our clients that we will promote the Code to prospective tenants
  2. Pledging to follow the Code
  3. Adjusting the standard lease terms for the model PRUPIM-client lease so that they are Code-compliant
  4. Ensuring that prospective tenants are made aware of the Code by giving our agents and clients’ lawyers specific instructions to do this
  5. Making reference to the Code in our letting particulars and, where feasible, on letting advertising boards

PRUPIM will be transparent where we are required to depart from the Code in any particular case, or if we are instructed by a client to do so, and the reasons why.

PRUPIM encourages tenants and applicants for vacant space in our managed properties to request the type of lease terms most suitable for them. Whilst we will put forward our preferred terms at the start of any discussions, we will usually be very happy to consider alternative packages.

PRUPIM has introduced a Tenant Complaints Procedure to handle complaints under the Code.
